Deep River Poker

Deep River Poker is a private, invitation-only social poker club focused on friendly, competitive tournament play.

Our series features seasonal tournament points, player leaderboards, real-time clock tracking, and championship crowning events for our registered community members.

Venue Rules & Important Information

Please help us protect the venue and keep the Rec Room clean, comfortable, and welcoming for everyone.

Arrival and Late Entry

Late entry ends at the conclusion of Level 2 (~6:30 p.m.)
If you expect to arrive late or need to cancel at the last minute, please text Tim at (360) 869-2538.
Ring the doorbell when you arrive. Because the game may already be in progress, please allow a minute or two for someone to let you in.

Re-buy, Surrender & Add-on Rules

Re-buy & Surrender (through Break 1 / ~7:10 p.m.): At any time before Round 5 begins, a player who busts out—or any player with fewer than 20,000 chips—may surrender their remaining chips and re-buy for $12. Surrendered chips are removed from play and replaced with a new 20,000-chip starting stack.
Points Penalty: Unlimited re-buys are permitted before Round 5. Each re-buy incurs a 10% penalty on earned tournament season points for that event.
Optional $5 Add-on (+10,000 Chips): Available to all active players during Break 1 (7:00 p.m. – 7:10 p.m.), regardless of stack size, with no points penalty.

New Player Referral Bonus

+2,000 chips for both: When a member brings a first-time player, the referring member and the new player each receive an additional 2,000 tournament chips for that event.
The referring member must play in the same tournament. Maximum of two referrals (4,000 chips) per member per tournament. Each new player may be credited to only one member.
Awarded at the start of the tournament, first-time participants only, no cash value. Full details

Venue Rules

Stay out of the pool area. The pool and surrounding areas are not available to players or guests.
Respect the property. Please use the Rec Room furnishings and equipment carefully and follow all posted venue rules.
No smoking or vaping near the Rec Room. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the Rec Room or in the courtyard directly outside the entrance. Please use the parking area for all smoking and vaping.
Clean up after yourself. Please dispose of your trash, wipe up spills promptly, and leave your seating area as clean as you found it.
No Cheetos, Doritos, or similar snacks. Foods with orange or red cheese powder are not permitted because they can stain the tables, cards, chips, furniture, and carpeting.
Group snacks are welcome. If you would like to bring something to share, good options include:
- Cookies or other easy-to-serve treats
- Pretzels, crackers, or non-messy chips
- Bottled or canned beverages
- Other clean, table-friendly snacks

Tournament Payout Schedule

100% of the tournament prize pool is paid out according to the number of players who enter the tournament (re-buys add to the prize pool, but do not increase the player count tier for places paid). The percentage breakdown for each tier is defined as follows:

What Happens After Round 17? Understanding ICM Payouts

At the conclusion of Round 17, if more than one player remains, the tournament will end and the remaining prize money will be distributed using the Independent Chip Model (ICM).

What is ICM?

ICM is a mathematical method used in poker tournaments to fairly divide prize money based on each remaining player's chip stack.

Rather than continuing to play until there is one winner, ICM calculates each player's share of the remaining prize pool by considering how many chips they have and their mathematical chances of finishing in each prize-paying position.

Here's a simple example: Imagine three players remain when Round 17 ends:

Player A has 50% of the chips.
Player B has 30% of the chips.
Player C has 20% of the chips.

Player A has the best chance of winning, but Players B and C still have a chance of finishing first or second.

ICM considers those possibilities, along with the tournament's prize structure, to calculate a payout for each player. It's not simply a 50%–30%–20% split of the money.

The bottom line: Players with larger chip stacks generally receive larger payouts, but every remaining player's chips have value. ICM provides a mathematically based way to distribute the remaining prize money without requiring everyone to continue playing.
